Tia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing in children, adolescents and families. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and Masters Degree in Social Work from the University at Albany. She has experience providing individual, family and group therapy to children, adolescents, families and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings; with special areas of interest in complex trauma, family/parenting work, mood disorders and personality disorders. Tia has been providing clinical services to Warren and Washington Counties since 2015, first through her work at Glens Falls Hospital Center for Children and Families and more recently through Behavioral Health Services North.
Using compassion, empathy, and an interactional style, Tia uses a trauma-informed, strengths based model to help her clients define what mental wellness means for them and help them reach that standard. By incorporating their emotional, social, spiritual, and physical selves, she helps clients explore their experiences, gain insight, and learn the skills to achieve their goals and thrive. Tia uses a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, play therapy, and others; and has certifications in family trauma treatment and intensive trauma treatment.
Tia and her husband Jamie have four children, Dustin, EmilyAnn, Dominick, and Elias. Tia enjoys camping and hiking in the Adirondacks with family and friends, traveling, writing, and reading for personal pleasure and professional development.
